Oracle development continues its longstanding commitment to enhancing the DRM product to meet the needs of their user base and to meet their goal of seamless integration with the rest of the Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of tools.
Enhancements of DRM 11.1.2.4.340
The 340 release adds substantial enhancements to DRM, including the following:
- Common user provisioning
- Integration with Financial Data Quality Management (FDMEE)
- Hyperlink usage in Data Relationship Governance (DRG) workflow instructions
- Enhancement of the Find function for implicit shared nodes
- Provisioning of exclusion of shared nodes for unique property validations
Common User Provisioning
DRM now supports user and group provisioning from external user directories (e.g. LDAP, MS Active Directory) using Oracle Hyperion Shared Services. Users and groups in those directories can be provisioned with user roles to DRM applications registered with Shared Services. In addition, provisioned user groups in shared services can be mapped to node access groups in property categories in DRM providing automated user membership. This version also allows common user provisioning for any DRM application using Oracle Hyperion Shared Services for external user authentication.
Integration with FDMEE
Version 340 of DRM has a packaged integration available to link DRM and FDMEE that can be used to manage dimension member mappings between ERP source systems and EPM target applications supported by FDMEE. The reference manual Oracle Data Relationship Management Enterprise Performance Management Integration Guide contains detailed information for the setup and usage of this feature.
Hyperlink Usage for DRG Workflow Models
The 340 release permits DRG workflow model descriptions and instructions to use custom hyperlinks to web addresses containing instructions that can provide guidance for DRG users interacting with the request. The links are available on the request page of the web client for DRG.
Enhancement of the Find Function for Implicit Shared Nodes
With 340, a user can now find all instances of a node when searching via the Find feature in the Browse Hierarchy page. This means a user can find all instances of a node in a given hierarchy, including the implicit shared nodes.
Provisioning of Exclusion of Shared Nodes for Unique Property Validations
Version 340 allows shared nodes to be excluded when running validations. New validation classes — UniqueProp, VersionUniqueProp, and VersionUnique2Prop — have been added. There are options on each of the new classes of validations to exclude the shared nodes for validations using those new validation classes.
Summary
As evident from these enhancements, DRM continues to improve to meet the demands of the existing client base and competitive market. In addition, 340 has added new features for the newest addition to the DRM suite, Data Relationship Management Analytics, to enhance the dashboarding capabilities and to provide further information about the key activities of adding/changing/deleting nodes and properties for the DRM repository.
Oracle is committed to seamlessly integrating DRM with the rest of the EPM suite of tools, and as the EPM suite continues its migration to the cloud, DRM remains a powerful integration tool for on- and off-premises EPM applications as well as to the downstream non-Hyperion applications such as data marts and data warehouses maintained on premises.
