With each Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS) update, the implementation strategy changes due to increased functionality. Oracle has invested the time and effort to make each PSU game changing. In this blog, we’ll look at the latest PSU for ARCS.

Custom Reporting

Out-of-the-box reporting was enabled for ARCS much like the on-premises version, Oracle Account Reconciliation Manager (ARM). The only difference was the customized reporting capabilities in ARM were not available in ARCS — that is until the latest patch.

With the Custom Reports feature, you can report on reconciliations in a variety of output formats: Excel, PDF, or HTML. This feature supports generations of single reports, or report “groups” that contain collections of reports.

Data Management

In the earlier release of ARCS, implementations included file based loads for pre-mapped balances and transactions. In the latest ARCS PSU, the following changes have been made:

A new module for loading data is now available in addition to existing file-based loads. Data Management enables you to:

  • Integrate file-based data from an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) source system into an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) target application
  • Set up data load mappings to transform data from the source system format to the required Account Reconciliation Cloud format
  • Define data load rules allowing complete control of the data integration process
  • Drill through from the EPM target application and view data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) source system

This update allows for on-premises FDMEE to extract, transform, and load to ARCS. The heavy-lifting of FDMEE and ODI  is now enabled to further the automation and integration within ARCS.

You can find the updated data management module within ARCS by doing the following:

1. From the ARCS home screen, select “Tools”ARCS_updates_2.png

2. On the tools page, select “Data Loads”

3. The data load window will appear. Select the New Icon and initiate the data load.

The process to load data is similar to the on-premises version, ARM. Note: Access to FDMEE 11.1.2.4 and patching to .200 is mandatory for an on-premises data load to ARCS.

Staying Current with ARM and ARCS PSU

It’s a difficult task to keep up with the latest PSU and enhancements from the client’s perspective.  From the developer’s perspective each PSU creates interesting opportunities to automate, integrate, and secure the reconciliation process.  Let us know what PSU you are on and we can outline the enhancements that are available within the most recent PSU. Contact Us and we can work together to exploit these new enhancements to improve your reconciliation process.
