Using Excel to Load Data

You can use specific Excel templates or CSV files in order for OneStream to read and load the data via import in Workflow, Forms data, Journal, Data Attachments, or Custom Tables.

  • XFD – Import Excel Template
  • XFF – Form Import Template
  • XFJ – Journal Import Template
  • XFC – Cell Detail Import Template
  • XFT – Relational tables XL Template

Import Excel Template (XFD)

This method is used to import Stage data to OneStream. The user first needs to create Dimension (e.g. E#, A#, S#) mapping. After that, you’ll need to create a Named Range beginning with xfd (There can be multiple xfd Named Ranges across multiple tabs within an Excel workbook).

Form Import Template (XFF)

This method is used to import Form information to a specific intersection in OneStream. The header rows in Excel specify the location in which the form data is loaded. The data rows contain form account details to import to the specified location.

Journal Import Template (XFJ)

This method is used to import Journal information to a specific intersection in OneStream. The header rows specify the location the journal will be loaded. The data rows contain the journal amount and the details to import to the specified location.

Cell Detail Import Template (XFC)

This data loading method is used to import cell detail information to a specific intersection. The header rows specify the location the cell detail will be loaded. The data rows contain the cell detail amount and additional information to import to the specified location.

Relational Table XL Template (XFT)

This method is used to load data into OneStream’s relational tables as per packaged MarketPlace solutions. The mechanism for loading these table can be delivered through the user interface of a MarketPlace Solution.
