FDMEE Tutorial: Search Icon Missing from Select Point of View Dialog Box

With numerous clients upgrading to EPM 11.1.2.4.x and migrating from FDM Classic to FDMEE, one issue we’ve heard repeatedly is that the search icon is missing from the Select Point of View dialog box when using Internet Explorer 11. This is the result of the Workspace hostname / computer name being listed in Compatibility View or Display intranet sites in Compatibility View being selected.

The incorrect rendering without the search icon is…



To resolve, select Tools -> Compatibility View Settings.

Unselect Display intranet sites in Compatibility View or remove the Workspace hostname / computer name by selecting the value and then Remove. Once this is done, select Close.

 

Select Leave the Page.

 

Log back into Workspace, access FDMEE, and then open the Select Point of View dialog box. The search option can now be selected.
