Two Minute Tutorial: OAC Creation Error Workaround

OAC: Oracle Analytics Cloud(OAC) Service Creation fails with "PSM-LCM-01008 Unable to create service" Error (Doc ID 2353287.1)

I was unable to find the GUID ID referenced in the above Doc ID — so I fought until I found a way to find it. This is most likely due to the most recent version of OAC and the cloud having slightly different screens and naming for things. In this quick blog post, I’ll go through the steps for a workaround for finding the GUID for your storage containers:

1. On your Dashboard, click on Customize Dashboard.

2. Select Show on all options.

3. On the Dashboard, scroll down and select Storage Classic.

4. From this Storage Classic page, scroll down to Additional Information.

5. You are looking for REST Endpoint (Permanent). Copy this into a text editor.
   
   

6. Modify your URL here to make two URLs, as shown below:

https://Storage-be26cff6d#####XXXX#####.us.storage.oraclecloud.com/v1 ----Cloud Storage Base URL

https://Storage-be26cff6d#####XXXX#####.us.storage.oraclecloud.com/v1/Storage-be26cff6d#####XXXX#####/<Storage_Container_Name> ——Cloud Storage Container

7. Create your service instance and, on the Details page, scroll down into Cloud Storage Configuration.

8. Enter the above URLs into the respective spots.
