The February updates for Oracle's Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS) have arrived. In this blog post, we’ll outline new features in reconciliation compliance, transaction matching, fixed defects, and more.

We’ll let you know any time there are updates to ARCS or any other Oracle EPM cloud products. Check the US-Analytics Oracle EPM & BI Blog every month.

The monthly update for Oracle ARCS will occur on Friday, February 16 during your normal daily maintenance window.

Notes

Account Reconciliation Cloud no longer supports migration of snapshots from the latest service version to an earlier service version (for example, when moving snapshots between test and production pods during the window when test is upgraded before production.)

Migration between the same versions will still be supported. Some objects, such as Profiles, may still be moved from the latest to an earlier version outside of migration snapshots by exporting them from the latest service version and importing them into the earlier version.

ARCS New Features

Migrating from ARM to ARCS

You can migrate from Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management’s (FCM) Account Reconciliation Manager (ARM) module to ARCS. The FCM release must be at 11.1.2.4.250 or later to perform this migration. See the “Administering Oracle Accounting Reconciliation Cloud” guide for detailed instructions.

New EPM Automate Utility Version

A new version of the EPM Automate Utility is available with this update. This version includes the upgrade command, which automatically downloads and silently installs the newest version of the EPM Automate Utility. After you run the login command to initiate a session, the utility identifies the current installed version. If the installed version is not the newest available, you can run this command to the utility prompts you to download and install the latest version.

Jobs History Retained for 60 Days

The history for system and user initiated jobs is now retained and displayed for up to 60 days.

Reconciliation Compliance

Archive, Purge, and Restore of Reconciliations

Administrators can now help keep the size of the database in check and help performance by using archive, restore, and purge functionality in Reconciliation Compliance. This allows you to archive data and access the archived content as needed. Archiving is an extension of the existing Lifecycle Management (LCM) export and import functionality and a new artifact of reconciliations has been created in LCM for Account Reconciliation.

Archiving allows you to save reconciliations, transactions and related data from selected periods in ARCS in an archive file that can be stored locally. Purge allows you to permanently remove reconciliations, transactions, and related data from selected periods in ARCS after archiving if you wish. Restore allows you to restore the saved archive file to a different machine or the same machine.g

Transaction Matching

Delete Transactions

If enabled by a service administrator, users can now delete incorrect or unwanted transactions in Transaction Matching. The deletion is performed on the Unmatched Transactions dialog.

Change in Transaction Matching Table Requires Custom Reports Revision

A change was made and the Transaction Match ID is now stored in the respective dynamic tables (TM_TRANS_*) in the MATCH_ID column and the TM_MATCH_TRANS table is deprecated from 18.02. This requires that custom reports on transactions using TM_MATCH_TRANS must be changed to use the transactions dynamic table (TM_TRANS_*). In a future update, this will not be needed. Sample queries can be created using the Transaction Matching report builder.

Removal of Support

Enhanced User Experience in Reconciliation Compliance

In early calendar year of 2018, the method of accessing the Reconciliation List, Transaction List, and Profiles List will not be available. Enhancements that were made to the Reconciliation Compliance user interface several months ago created a more intuitive and improved user experience to things like Reconciliation, Transaction and Profile list views, as well as managing reports and the common use of a filter bar across multiple EPM Cloud products. These enhancements will replace the old method to give you quick and easy navigation.
