PBCS Is Still Hyperion Planning with Brian Marshall
When: Jun 28, 2016, Session 9, 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Topic: EPM Applications - Subtopic: Planning
With Oracle’s release of PBCS, many services companies have started releasing their one-size-fits-all implementations. The unfortunate truth is that PBCS is still Hyperion Planning. This presentation discusses the best practices around implementing PBCS and how to avoid the pitfalls of implementations offered at insanely cheap (and underestimated) pricing. Attend this session if you don’t want to have your PBCS project “land and expand.”
The Planning Repository Revisited: Beyond the Basics with Brian Marshall
When: Jun 28, 2016, Session 10, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Topic: EPM Applications - Subtopic: Planning
If you’ve enjoyed Brian’s past presentations on the Planning repository, you will enjoy this presentation even more. We’ll take a step beyond the basics and provide a whole new set of examples that take a leap into real-world use. Whether it’s synchronizing metadata across applications or deleting dimensions, this presentation will dive deeper than ever before into the repository. But wait… there’s more. This presentation will have full samples in both Transact SQL for SQL users and PL/SQL for Oracle users. That’s two languages for the price of one (shipping and handling not included).
Automating Guarantor Non-Guarantor Financial Statements with the HFM Equity Pickup Model with Keith Berry
When: Jun 28, 2016, Session 7, 8:30 am - 9:30 am
Topic: EPM Applications - Subtopic: Financial Close
Learn how to automate Guarantor Non-Guarantor Financial Statements in HFM using the Equity Pickup Module. We’ll describe the unique challenges posed by G-NG Statements and how the EPU Module is uniquely designed to solve them. We will then delve into the EPU Module. We’ll explain how it works, provide implementation examples, and walk through several code examples. We’ll also offer tips and recommendations based on our experience working with EPU.
Data-driven Rules in HFM with Keith Berry
When: Jun 29, 2016, Session 17, 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm
Topic: EPM Applications - Subtopic: Financial Close
Learn how to write data-driven rules that respond efficiently to the data in your HFM system. Data-driven rules are fast, easy to understand, and free from unintended side effects such as data explosion. In the first part of the presentation, we'll go over how HFM processes data and why data-driven rules make sense. In the second part, we'll work through some practical examples.
Meet the EPM Gurus
US-Analytics will again be heavily involved with the conference, sending EPM experts Brian Marshall and Keith Berry to present three sessions on Hyperion Planning and HFM topics. Swing by their sessions and, better yet, come to booth 420 for a one-on-one chat.
Brian Marshall is a Practice Manager with over a decade of experience designing IT solutions for companies across a multitude of industries. His Oracle wheelhouse is the EPM suite of products, specializing in Hyperion Essbase (ASO and BSO), Hyperion Planning (Classic and EPMA), and Hyperion Financial Management. A Kscope veteran, Brian has presented at every conference since 2010.
As Practice Manager over financial close solutions, Keith Berry also has a decade of experience designing and implementing the Oracle Hyperion EPM suite.
